This was a fun little project that I handled by myself. Wripple is a creative services agency specializing in premium talent. Having worked with them over the last couple of years, I was excited when they engaged me to design a client dashboard experience with new features. After thoroughly reviewing the main navigation and controls, I advised the client on the importance of streamlining the overall experience. The existing navigation, filters, and progress bar were confusing and did not reflect the quality of the service itself. Another important gap in the previous design work was the absence of a true design system based on the atomic model; using best practices such as nested components and variants.
A premium creative marketplace dashboard experience.
For each sprint, I worked with the client to draft detailed requirements covering specific features, and to establish user flows that dovetailed with aspects of the existing system. Due to the complexity of the client-side product, it was important to map all contingencies, and to ensure that every potential use case was addressed. Starting from thumbnails, we then created a whole suite of new design elements such as cards, tiles, modals, and a vast array of new screens. On the design system side of things, I worked with Wripple to systematize the existing colors and fonts, and then build a whole new design toolkit using the atomic model, along with instructions for other designers on how to gradually implement the new system.
Filtering talent results is a critical feature of the platform, and new controls and marketing messages needed to be created to explain the use of the new system. For budget reasons, the client elected to continue using the Humaaans mix and match illustration library so I created new larger illustrations using the same method to explain key concepts; accompanied by micro text to help clients understand how to use the new dashboard.
